Flashback: Men's Eight Silver at 2009 Worlds

Only Howard and Byrnes were in the eight that reached the pinnacle of elite rowing success, the gold medal at the Olympics last year. Read more about this year's Worlds here. Coaching Education: NCCP Update
Level 1 and 2 technical have been replaced with RCA Coach Workshops and are being offered across the country. The old Level 1 and 2 theory have been discontinued and new multi-sport material have been integrated into the RCA Coach workshops. The content in this workshop is focused on athletes in the LTAD Training to Train and Learning to Compete stage (see LTAD document). Coaches wishing to get more information on participating in the new workshops should contact their provincial rowing associations.

Rowing Canada Aviron is starting work on RCA Performance Coach. This training is focused on athletes in the late Learning to Compete stage and the Training to Compete stage. If you are a coach working with this level of athlete and wish to get started, information can be found here.

Rowing Canada Aviron's annual awards are made by the Executive Committee on the basis of recommendations from the Awards Committee. Nominations are invited for certain awards. See this document and the awards section for more information on the nomination process.
Always Have Your Pleasure Craft Operator Cards
By Sept. 15, 2009 all operators must carry the Pleasure Craft Operator Card. For more information, see the Transport Canada site . If you have specific questions related to rowing and safety, please contact Dave Derry, one of Rowing Canada Aviron's Domestic Development Officers.
